Sealing
Our main service at DeckSeal is......
Sealing decks! We like to use TWP branded sealer as default. In our experience, TWP is rich, long-lasting, and provides superior protection. If you would prefer to use another stain/sealer, we will be happy to source your preferred brand.
Deck
Cleaning
DeckSeal will power wash your deck before we seal. There are additional cleaning steps that we can provide if your deck is in need of some extra love. For example, we can add a light cleaning agent or sand the deck depending on the condition. We don't like to use harsh cleaners and strippers. They are bad for the environment and the person working the deck.
Second Coats
Some deck companies claim they apply two coats of sealer on the same day of service. However, this is not a TRUE second coat- it is just adding extra sealer. Its called a "wet-on-wet" coat, and we use that technique if needed. To get the benefits of a second coat requires at least a day or two between seals. We make sure to work with your schedule and ensure a true second coat if its what your deck needs.
Repairs
It is a good idea to stay on top of deck maintenance. A few repairs over time is far more inexpensive that a complete replacement. During your free appraisal, we will let you know what we see and work with you to come up with a plan.
Hand
Brushed
Some large sealing companies like to use sprayers to speed up the process. Spraying should only be done in rare circumstances. It is messy and difficult to coax into a nice finish. So at DeckSeal, we use brushes. It takes a little more time, but the finished product is worth it.
Safety
Mistakes and messes are inevitable when you're sealing a deck. But a little care upfront can lead to a much cleaner finish. We will take the time to protect the surrounding area so you new deck looks buttoned-up.
